You Are Not Alone

It’s hard being alone,

But what if you are not alone,

And you still feel lonely with your own friends or family?

What if you struggle with this constant feeling of not belonging?

Or like people just don’t see the real you?

What if the one person who you thought saw the real you,

And made you feel at home in their arms, rejected you and confirmed your worst fears?

“Maybe I just don’t belong.

Maybe I’m just not lovable.

Maybe I’m just too much for people to accept me as I am.”

It’s hard being alone,

But what if you are alone and no one seems to check up on you?

What if you wonder if anyone will miss you if you’re gone for good?

Or like all of your relationships were just a lie?

But maybe, just maybe…

The One person who really sees you for who you are,

And welcomes you into His loving arms, was there all along?

He says to you, “I’ll never reject you or forsake you.”

He wants you to know that you do belong here and now,

That you are loved unconditionally,

That you are a peculiar treasure created for a unique purpose.

You have a place in this world.

You have a place in the bigger picture.

You have a place in the lives of those your path was meant to cross.

Oh my darling, you are not alone.
