But By The Grace of God

“Grace will lead me home; grace will lead me home, through every trial I have come; only your grace will lead me home.”

Grace Will Lead Me Home by David Dunn

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the beautiful grace of God.

Grace, a word used in excess within the Christian community, yet a word that may be so hard to grasp and hold on to.

Grace, the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him; the favourable influence of God in our lives. – KJV Dictionary

God’s grace and strength have been my two greatest anchors over the past few years. I keep thinking, where would I be without the grace of God? Where would we all be without the love and grace of God?

We live in a broken world full of many trials and tribulations, heartache and pain, victories and losses, but God promises us that His grace is sufficient to keep us in every season and in our weaknesses. He encourages us to take heart because He has already overcome the world. He has guaranteed us that His grace is enough for you and for me.

But are we really leaning into the grace of God?

But He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My loving-kindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP)

As I write this with tears in my eyes (tears of gratitude), when I reflect on the years gone by, I am amazed by how God has held me and kept me through every season. I am so grateful and my heart overflows with God’s love. I boast in my weaknesses and failures because my God has proven himself strong, time and time again. Aren’t you truly grateful for His strength?

Honestly, recently I’ve been emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted with all that’s been going around me and within in me. Can you relate? Plus, I have been guilty time and time again of trying to figure out things in my own understanding and rely on my own strength but that’s not what He wants for me or for you.

You see the thing is, He welcomes us into His loving arms daily to lean into His strength and grace. He wants to hold us and carry us and empower us daily. He doesn’t want us struggling in our own measly strength or we would constantly burn out and lose faith and hope.

I encourage you today to ask Him daily for His grace and strength and surrender yourself to Him. Lean into His loving arms each day. His grace will keep your hope and faith alive. His grace will empower you to keep running the race, no matter how hard it gets.

Through sickness, His grace is sufficient. In the waiting season, His grace is sufficient. When temptations bombard you, His grace is sufficient. Through financial struggles, His grace is sufficient. In the midst of a pandemic and a crazy year, His grace is sufficient. In the midst of pain and heartache, His grace is sufficient. Through the healing process, His grace will keep you.

Hold on my brother, my sister, my friend. God’s grace is enough for you. His grace will lead you home, into His loving, liberating and restoring presence!

“Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favour] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” Hebrew 4:16 (AMP)

Before you leave please take some time to listen to “REST” by Kari Jobe and take some time to rest in the beautiful presence of God. Be blessed.

Yours truly,

Esther (aka Star)
