I Have A Dream

A poem from my 16 year old self

I have a dream that someday I’ll accept myself for who I am,

That I’d realize I don’t need to be superwoman,

That this life I live is no longer to people please,

That I’d believe I am no lesser a man than these.

I have a dream that someday I’ll become somebody,

That I would be looked upon as someone who made it through this life successfully,

That persons will no longer judge me by my appearance,

But that people will see the purpose of my existence.

I have a dream that someday I’ll feel beautiful no matter what,

That people’s words would no longer leave a cut,

That I’ll finally accept the words You said for me to see,

That You fearfully and wonderfully made me.
